THE LOCATION: It's the closest beach to a European Capital and the closest one to the center of Lisbon, just 15mn away. Costa da Caparica is simultaneously: -Urban: near Lisbon and Almada -Beachy: the biggest beach town in the Lisbon area -Environmentally protected: home to the forest of fears and the cliffs -Naturally beautiful: located at the southern area and cliffs
THE HISTORY: Caparica counts two very active surf clubs and seven surfboard factories. About 20 schools carry out regular activities in town and a dozen others visit regularly. More than 12 surf shops serve the area and distribute equipment to local and visiting surfers. It's part of the history of national surfing with dozens of national and international champions who grew up surfing there. A pioneer in national sporting associations with the Caparica Surfing Club, founded in 1982, the second in Portugal.
THE WAVE: Waves break on the Costa da Caparica nearly 365 days a year with great consistency. All levels of surfers will find suitable conditions, ideal for schools, training and competitions. A 30km stretch of beach will disseminate the crowds and offer everyone a chance to surf in peace at over 100 peaks.
