Below is a summary of the swell and wind activity over the next few days, for the full detailed forecast, please visit the Forecast tab on the event website.

Overview

After a slow run the Atlantic is set to deliver a reasonable storm for the competition, although only a weak edge towards France. Beyond this the possibility of a Biscay low pressure for the end of the waiting period keeps things interesting, if uncertain.

Tue 16th August

A likely flat opening day.

Wed 17th - Fri 19th

Two pulses of swell, the first on Wednesday and the second filling in on Thursday bring waves in the waist to chest range on the better sets and larger on Thursday afternoon but light onshore winds during the day are likely.

Sat 20th - Sun 21st

Broad model agreement in a small, disruptive Biscay storm. Impossible to predict at this range as the smallest change in track could have big changes for size and wind direction but a strong possibility of sizeable surf and, at times, strong and difficult local winds.
