Jeep leader John John Florence avoided early elimination with a critical heat win over Miguel Blanco in Round Two of the MEO Rip Curl Pro. He barely edged out the local wildcard in a low-scoring affair.
But Florence's job is far from over. He will face another Portuguese wildcard, Frederico Morais, in Round Three. The local already started his giant-killing campaign in Round One with a win over World No. 2, Gabriel Medina. For this next battle, John will have to bring his A-game.
