Six-time World Champ Stephanie Gilmore used a 9-point ride in the early stages of the Women's Pipe Invitational to cruise her way to victory in the showcase specialty event. While her fellow finalists -- Tyler Wright and Carissa Moore -- struggled to find any kind of rhythm in the overhead, pointbreak-like conditions at Backdoor Pipeline, Gilmore picked off a second wave that scored in the excellent range, an 8.0, to seal her first pro tour win in months.
