Post Show Report: Opening Day at World Junior Championship

The best 18-and-under surfers from around the globe converged Wednesday on the gorgeous northern corner of Bombo for Round One of the 2016 World Junior Championship. Both the men's and women's divisions saw playful, albeit tricky, beachbreak conditions. Not surprisingly, early round standouts included Australian Ethan Ewing, who will be joining the Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour in 2017, and California's Griffin Colapinto, who finished the Qualifying Series in the No. 32 slot. Meanwhile, Hawaii's Brisa Hennessy was one of many top standouts on the women's side.
