The idyllic NSW South Coast will play host to the fifth event on the Subway® Surf Series this weekend, with some of Australia's and the world's best and most promising junior surfers set to battle it out.

The elite two-day World Surf League (WSL) sanctioned Australasian Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) event competition will take place on the South Coast beach from the 8 - 9 April, 2017.

After taking out event four of the Subway® Surf Series in Western Australia, as well as earning herself a position in the Roxy Pro Championship Tour event, following a massive victory in the trials event, Alyssa Lock (Tweed Heads, NSW) is eager to continue the momentum when the competition kicks off on Saturday.

"I'm really looking forward to the event getting underway this weekend," said Lock. "I could never imagined getting my recent results at the Roxy Pro trials and the Subway® Surf Series Pro Junior event, so hopefully I can carry some of that winning momentum into the event this weekend."

Surfers have come from all four corners of the globe to contest event five of the Subway® Surf Series, with competitors representing Chile, Hong Kong, Italy, Indonesia and New Zealand as well as all around Australia.
