Post Show Report From a Manic Monday in J-Bay

Joe Turpel and Martin Potter were joined by special guest Filipe Toledo to break down the day's top action at the Corona Open J-Bay. And on a day when J-Bay, specifically the section known as Supertubes, was the featured act, Brazilian Filipe Toledo stole the show. Toledo was still buzzing from his near-perfect heat in Round Two and was candid about his time off from Tour, due to suspension.

The day was full of significant plot lines, not the least of which was Kelly Slater's serious foot injury during a practice surf up the point from Supertubes. Later, Kolohe Andino filed an unsuccessful protest with the Commissioner's office after a non-competitor infringed on one of his best waves in his heat against Jadson Andre. Andre's defeat of Andino was possibly the biggest of a handful of upset wins over higher seeds throughout Round Two.

With Round Two fully completed, organizers can now sit back and pick the eyes out of what looks like a very promising forecast towards the back end of the waiting period.
