Tatiana Weston-Webb Surges to Final at US Open

In her Semifinal heat at the Vans US Open of Surfing - Women's CT Tatiana Weston-Webb squeezed the life out of this wave in the Semis to put a solid score up and win the heat. She'll go on to compete in the Final for the second year running. As the defending event champ here in Huntington Beach, she's gunning for a second win, which give her not only a big boost in confidence, but also in points on the Jeep Leaderboard.

Her success at this California beach break is an important turnaround for her season so far, in which she's had mixed results. She arrived in HB reanked at World No. 10 -- the cutoff line for Championship Tour requalification -- which is low for a woman who has been within the top 10 since she landed on tour in 2015. "I took the small steps to get to the big goal and here I am so I'll just keep sticking to my game plan and hopefully we get some more waves for the Final," she said afterward. We just want to perform and put on a show for that Final for all the fans for sure. I don't think [my strategy] will change either way and just do the surfing I've been doing -- I feel good on my boards and feel really fast which is just helping make those connections. I just want to keep surfing really well."

Weston-Webb will face Sage Erickson in the Final.
