Kanoa Igarashi's been dreaming of this day his entire surfing life, so when the Final got underway of this year's Vans US Open of Surfing and he was finally in it, he couldn't help but get "chicken skin" when the heat started. Kanoa has spent thousands of hours in the Huntington Beach lineup, so it wasn't surprising, even in wave-starved conditions, for him to dig out a 9.63 against Tomas Hermes. Igarashi took the moment to salute his hometown fans.
