The iconic Chambre d'Amour readies to host the third edition of the Pro Anglet.

Competition is wrapping up at the Caraïbos Lacanau Pro and by now most surfers eliminated up there have made their way to the iconic Chambre d'Amour to start practicing.

Anglet was just in the limelight a couple of nights ago with the exciting night surf event ultimately won by the Rip Curl team of Vincent Duvignac, Pauline Ado and Gearoid McDaid. Duvi got a wildcard for the men's main event, and since Pauline didn't really need it, Rip Curl decided to give the women's to young ripper Ellie Turner from the U.K.

Which brings us to the main focus here, the QS1,500 Pro Anglet that starts Tuesday. The first two editions were major successes with incredible conditions and this year it looks like pretty much everybody wanted in. So much so that we had to open the doors a little wider and let 144 men in, as well as 64 women.

Out of those huge numbers a few names stand out. First of all are the trials winners who competed Saturday for a wildcard: Michelle Bouillons and Lens Arancibia.

But more importantly, two names are getting everyone really worked up, those of Championship Tour athletes Joan Duru and local hero Pauline Ado. Both surfers will lead the pack and hope to put on a good show for their home crowds.

The event also packs a number of super fun side activations with concerts, movie screenings, the Monster Energy BMX Superjump and a fireworks show to wrap it up Saturday night.
