Brazilian phenom Yago Dora takes out the 2017 Azores Airlines Pro pres. by SEAT and climbs up to No.2 on the QS, bolstering his chances of becoming a Championship Tour surfer in 2018.
"Ian (Gouveia) told me to win this event for him as he couldn't be here this year," Yago said after his victory. "It's definitely less weight on my shoulders now, my goal was to finish the Euro leg with all the points I needed to qualify so I think I've done just that and I'm super stoked about it. Competing is what I love doing and no matter the points and qualification I'm going to enjoy it just as much in these next few events, competing against some of the best surfers in the world is always exciting."
