Post Show Report: Title Races Heating Up at Trestles

After another huge day of top-tier surfing at Lower Trestles, the men's and women's World Title races are reaching a boiling point. With the Hurley and Swatch Pro events set to finish on Friday morning, the matter of who will wearing the Jeep Leaders' jersey in Europe has yet to be decided.

Reigning World Champion John John Florence of Hawaii will surf in Round Five of the 2017 Hurley Pro Trestles after placing second in Heat 3 of Round Four at Trestles, CA, USA. John John Florence - WSL / Sean Rowland

On the men's side, Jordy Smith and John John Florence are still in the hunt. In the final heat of the day Smith stepped up the pressure, by advancing to the Semifinals. John John Florence will face Jeremy Flores in Quarterfinal Heat No. 3 first thing Friday morning. Smith and Florence are No. 1 and No. 2 on the Jeep Leaderboard respectively, but with fewer than 1000 points separating them, the person who finishes out front here at Lowers will walk away as Jeep Leader.

It's a similar case on the women's side, where at the moment, Sally Fitzgibbons will be taking the Jeep Leaders' jersey from Tyler Wright, who lost to Stephanie Gilmore in Round Four. But Sally then lost to Courtney Conlogue in the Quarterfinals, so now, if Courtney can get past a fired-up Keely Andrew in their Semifinal clash, Courtney will be gold -- err, yellow -- Jeep Leaders' yellow.

Current No.3 on the Jeep Leaderboard Courtney Conlogue of the USA advances to the Semifinals of the 2017 Swatch Pro Trestles after defeating No.2 Sally Fitzgibbons of Australia in Quarterfinal Heat 3 at Trestles, CA, USA. Courtney Conlogue - WSL / Sean Rowland

Ronnie Blakey, Peter Mel and special guest, 1978 World Champion Wayne Bartholomew, break it all down in today's Post Show Report.
