World Surf League (WSL) Hawaii/Tahiti Nui is excited to announce a new regional partnership with Hurley Surf Club to support youth surfing in Hawaii. The year-round collaboration will commence with Hurley Surf Club's title sponsorship of the Hurley Surf Club Pro Junior, October 14 - 20 at Turtle Bay Resort. Now in its second year, the event kicks off Hawaii's winter surf season with a bang, and will decide Hawaii's Regional Junior Champions and 2018 World Junior Championship qualifiers.

The Hurley Surf Club Pro Junior will be held in conjunction with the Turtle Bay Resort Pro Women's Qualifying Series (QS) 1,000 and Turtle Bay Resort Longboard Pro for men and women. Competition will take place at Turtle Bay Resort's iconic Pool Bars break, and will run during the best three days of the seven-day holding period.

Year round, the Hurley Surf Club partnership will continue to create and expand opportunities for local youth surfers, in and out of the water. Collaborative initiatives will be run in tandem with the Hawaii Youth Surfing Development Organization (HYSDO), WSL Hawaii/Tahiti Nui's nonprofit fundraising partner.

"I'm really excited about the partnership between WSL Hawaii/Tahiti Nui, Hurley Surf Club, and HYSDO," says Joel Centeio, professional surfer and Hurley Hawaii Team Manager. "Our groups share common goals and are really motivated to give back to the community. We're focused on making the right resources available to help our young surfers get to that next level, and I can't wait to see how all of our planned events play out."

Hurley Surf Club will also host free movie nights and community activations at Turtle Bay Resort's Kuilima Point throughout the event's holding period. Local junior athletes and youth will also look forward to mentorship and insights from top Hurley athletes and ambassadors as part of the ongoing partnership.
