Post Show Report: Fitzgibbons Widens World Title Chase Lead

Former World Champ Martin Potter and ex-Big Wave Tour honcho Peter Mel joined Kaipo Guerrero to break down all of the day's stories emerging out of Portugal. And the biggest by far to emerge from the Cascais Women's Pro on Day 4 was Sage Erickson's stunning take down of World No. 2 Courtney Conlogue. Erickson's defeat of friend and rival Conlogue will have huge World Title chase implications, as well as introduce the Californian into the Title-hunt pack.

Over at the Men's QS 10,000 EDP Billabong Pro, the Championship Tour surfers continued to mow down Qualifying Series surfers on their march towards the podium, tossing aside qualification dreams in the process. Frenchman Joan Duru led the way among a hungry pack that includes Jadson Andre, Stuart Kennedy, Frederico Morais and Ezekiel Lau. With a bump up in the forecast, the event could be switched to another venue down the road from Guincho for the weekend.
