Kerr Deals Major Blow to Smith's Title Hopes

In an ironic twist of fate that illustrates the tight-knit nature of the Championship Tour, Jordy Smith -- current World No. 2 -- was eliminated in Round Three of the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal by his European leg roommate, Josh Kerr. Kerr -- World No. 35 -- who reaffirmed his retirement news to Rosy Hodge after the heat, sardonically joked during his post-heat interview that Smith didn't offer up any deals prior to their match-up, but if he had, things might have worked out differently.
