Never one to shy away from terrifying barrels, ASP Commissioner Kieren Perrow did some quality control testing out at The Box before Round 5 of the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro. His call? "It's on!"
South Africa's Jordy Smith surfed history's first heat at The Box. He was victorious, but paid the piper as well.
Brazilian sophomore Filipe Toledo had a good crack during his Round 5 heat at The Box, and even tried the highly-technical no board tube ride.
The Box doesn't discriminate. Even 2012 ASP World Champion Joel Parkinson has to pay his dues.
