2014 ASP Japan Tour Event #5 "Minami Boso Junior Pro" To Be held at Chitose Point

2014 ASP JAPAN TOUR EVENT 5 "Minami Boso Junior Pro" will be held this coming Sept.13th(SAT) and Sept.14th (SUN) at Mishima Kaigan(AKA Chitose Point), Minami-Boso-shi, Chiba-ken.

As we welcome the autumn season also widely recognized as the typhoon season, the typhoon back swell is hitting the Boso Peninsula and already producing the high quality surf for the high season.

The ASP Japan Junior Tour already finished the 1st event in August at Shida Point in Chiba and this coming event will be the 2nd event for the 2014 season.

The annual WJC will be held in November in Portugal, and the total points from these 2 events will determine the final qualifiers for the WJC along with the 2 top qualifiers from the top ranked 20 years and under surfers in the top QS ranking who belong to the Japan Branch.

The coming event will be the final event to determine the qualifiers for the WJC. As the world standards changes, in 2015 the juniors age will be consisted of 20 years and under and in 2016 it will be 18 years and under. The juniors will be more focused to the younger generation. These statements were announced from the ASP Commissioner Office officially.

Grade 1 event "Minami Boso Junior Pro" will be consisted of the U-16 cadets along with the U-20 Pro Juniors.

The finest junior surfers are ready for action. The finest domestic as well as international surfers make a total of 48 for the mens.

The event is expected to go on stand by right after 1st call on Saturday morning. With aspects from the typhoon in sight we expect quality northerly swells on offer for Saturday.

The junior event will be composed by 2 classes of U-20 Junior Mens and Junior Girls.

6 Mens and 2 Women will be invited to the WJC from ASP Japan Tour. Event venue Shida Point boasts its high quality surf to decide the invitees.
