PLAYA DE LA LANZADA, Pontevedra – Galicia/Spain (Wednesday, August 7, 2013) - ASP Europe is pleased to announce the addition of a new event to its Junior Men's and Women's series, the ASP 2-Star Surf Rias Baixas Pro in Pontevedra, Galicia - Spain. Located on the west facing coast of Galicia, Pontevedra receives most swells the Atlantic produces and transforms them into powerful surf, which la playa de lanzada often sees.
"ASP Europe are pleased to announce the confirmation of the ASP 2-Star Men's and Women's junior Surf Rias Baixas Pro event," Rob Gunning, European tour manager stated. "It will be the final event on this year's ASP Europe Pro Junior series and is sure to be highlighted by excellent surfing from the best under-20 surfers of Europe and abroad. The hunt for rankings points will be fierce with the front runners looking to secure a spot to represent ASP Europe in the World Junior Championships of 2013."
Reinforcing the ASP Europe Junior series, this new event will bring the best up-and-comers from all of Europe into new territories and to a new audience. With a consequent prize-money and ranking points on offer, Pontevedra will play a vital role in determining the season's overall champions.
"La playa de La Lanzada is located in an exceptionally beautiful region of Pontevedra in Galicia, with excellent quality waves and great local cuisine for all visiting surfers to experience and enjoy. We are sure to receive a very warm and hospitable welcome when the ASP European Pro Junior tour arrives in Pontevedra this September."
