About

Jadson Andre’s poor teenage parents weren’t at all keen on Jadson surfing as youngster because of its counter-cultural associations and though he should concentrate on soccer. An uncle however introduced him to the sport and would often take him surfing in secret. Before long though, he started winning local comps, and was offered a contract with Oakley and hit the international circuit. He qualified for the CT in 2010 and in his rookie season won at home at the Billabong Pro Santa Catarina defeating none other than Kelly Slater in the Final. Over the next decade the goofyfooter frequently struggled on the CT, but through sheer determination invariably kept his place on the elite tour through his QS form. Andre’s ever-present smile and infectious positivity has also made him one of the most popular surfers that has ever been on tour and a mentor to all the Brazilians coming through the ranks. With solid results in 2018 and 2019 on the QS, he has extended his career to a decade on the sport's biggest stage. If he ever leaves, Jaddy will be sorely missed.
