About Courtney Conlogue
Courtney Conlogue is a two-time runner-up to the World Title (2015, 2016) with a deep love and appreciation of the pro surfing game. She’s best known for her gritty determination, incredible work ethic, and an arduous pursuit of perfection. These were traits she learned to love as a 4-year-old student of martial arts while growing up in Santa Ana, California.
Her ocean-loving family filled their weekends with sessions that lasted from sunrise to sunset. Many weekends were spent with she and her brother riding nearly 20 miles on their bikes to catch a few waves in Huntington Beach; their adopted home break.
She won the first contest she ever entered when she was ten, which kick-started a rapid rise through the amateur ranks. By 14, she’d already earned a wildcard into the Maui Pro at Honolulu Bay. Watching the women of the World Tour dominate in the flawless conditions was all the inspiration she needed to chase her dream. In 2009, while still a star member of her high school track team, she won the US Open of Surfing in front of her home crowd. This pathed the way for her graduation to the Championship Tour, where her peers adore her light-hearted personality and insatiable curiosity as much as her determination and drive.
She bagged a couple wins during her first few years on Tour and finished in the Top 10. In 2014, Conlogue sustained a severe ankle injury which caused her to withdraw from Bells and miss out on 3 events. Her transformation into a contender happened in 2015 when she won events in Western Australia, Brazil and Portugal. In 2016, she was also a world title contender, however, she had a heartbreaking loss in the final event of that season.
During the first event of the 2018 season, at Snapper, Conlogue suffered a broken foot and was forced to withdraw from four critical events. Despite the setback, she went on to win the Vans US Open at her home break as well as the Roxy Pro France. She finished off the season in the No. 8 spot on the Jeep Leaderboard; showing zero signs of slowing down. In 2019, Courtney celebrated her 12th career Championship Tour win at Bells, while recovering from multiple concussions.
True to form she’s as motivated as ever by the process, the challenges, and the journey of her athletic career. Her commitment to her ultimate goal of being World Champion remains undiminished.
