Four-time event winner and 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater went down in Round 3 of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. The loss comes after a shocking Round 2 exit at stop No. 1 on the Gold Coast. Sometimes Mother Nature can be a fickle beast, even for the most winning surfer in history.
Slater opened up about his rough run and the door he believes may be open for a few other surfers, including the current Jeep Leader Matt Wilkinson.
