Kolohe Andino Jumps to World No. 4 at Backdoor

Heading into the Billabong Pipe Masters, many questioned how Kolohe Andino, who's still recovering from a torn ligament in his knee, would hold up in the powerful North Shore surf. But sometimes competing with an injury simplifies things. And so far, Kolohe's knee brace hasn't hindered him one bit in the roping Backdoor barrels. After securing a huge comeback win Sunday against Kai Otton, he set the tone early in Round Four when he threaded this Backdoor gem for a near-perfect 9.93. Andino finished with a 3rd place finish when the day was done, enough to move him up to No. 4 on the Jeep Leaderboard for the season.
