Post Show Report: Honolua Brings the Heat

After four days of waiting, the Maui Women's Pro got going Wednesday with pumping conditions -- and adrenaline. With a World Title on the line, every wave mattered, and the weight of that brought out the best in some, and perhaps weighed too heavily for others. Most dramatically, Sally Fitzgibbons, who arrived on Maui ranked World No. 1, lost in Round Two. She was completely eliminated from the race, however, by fellow Australian and World No. 2 Tyler Wright, whose run to the Quarterfinals rang the death knell for Fitzgibbons' hopes. After three full rounds, Ronnie Blakey, Rosy Hodge and Martin Potter broke down all the drama.
