Do The Aussies Have An Immediate Advantage When The Tour Starts Again In Their Home Waters?

Chapter 1, Episode 7

The Championship Tour gets ready to head Down Under for the start the Australian leg of the Tour, and three-time World Champ Mick Fanning and New School icon Ross Williams have much to discuss about this week on "Getting Heated."

For this round of fiery banter, the legendary duo break down what it means for the resident Australian surfers that won't have to endure a strict, two-week quarantine before the start of the upcoming contest in Newcastle. Will these Aussies have distinct advantage? Will the field of international competitors surfer under the weight of so much room service? Or are these men and women already so good it'll be nothing more than a chance to dry out the gills?

From there, Mick and Ross go deep on the subject of if there should be a former pro surfer on the Championship Tour judging panel. From progression to speed, power and flow, what would such an addition mean to who wins and loses heats?

After that the boys debate whether or not there should be a big wave venue on the Championship Tour schedule as a bit of an equalizing factor. Given what John John Florence has done on the North Shore this week, and Ross's gig as his coach, you'll have to listen to see how this one plays out.

The new episode is here. Mick and Ross have something to say. The Championship Tour's ready to restart Down Under. It's time to fire it up on "Getting Heated."

HEAT 1: ARE NON-AUSTRALIAN CT SURFERS AT AN AUTOMATIC DISADVANTAGE FOR THE UPCOMING AUSSIE LEG BY HAVING TO QUARANTINE FOR TWO WEEKS, INSTEAD OF SURF?

Heat 2: DO WE NEED FORMER PRO SURFERS ON THE CT JUDGING PANEL?

Heat 3: SHOULD THERE BE A BIG WAVE EVENT ON THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR?

Going Deep with Billy Kemper:  IN BIG WAVE SURFING, DO YOU NEED A TOUR AND WORLD TITLE FOR IT TO ALL MATTER, OR ARE INDIVIDUAL EVENT TITLES LIKE JAWS, OR THE EDDIE ENOUGH?
