Surfline Forecast: Southwest Swell Lining Up For Opening Weekend Of The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach

The event window will start small and clean on Sunday before an uptick in Southwest Swell sets up head high plus surf Monday before easing on Tuesday. That swell is from a potent nearby low expected to drop from the Great Australian Bight southeast below Tasmania this weekend.

The wind outlook for the start of the week has trended less favorable in recent days, with varying amounts of onshore flow and some rain showers possible Monday and Tuesday skies made clear by Wednesday, but wind remains onshore as a respectable new southwest soul arrives from a large storm expected to track through the higher latitudes of the Southern Ocean in the coming days. Improving quality is on the cards for Thursday and Friday, with decent sized leftovers on tap further out.

More west, southwest to southwest swells could show through the final days of the event wind up as the storm track into the Southern Ocean looks to remain active. Stay tuned to surfline.com in the coming days for the latest forecast details on the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.
