The waiting period for the Komune Bali Pro presented by The Mad Hueys begins tomorrow, right on time for a predicted 4-to-6 foot swell. The field of 64 surfers from Indonesia, Australia, and France will take to the water to battle for both 1-Star Association of Surfing Professionals Qualifying Series (QS) and Asian Surfing Championship (ASC) points at one of the world's premier surfing locations, Keramas located on the East Coast of Bali.

Former WCT competitor Dean Morrison (AUS) has won events at the highest level and he's here this week to take the opportunity to surf the world class wave of Keramas with just a couple of guys in the water.

“I've got three local guys in my heat and they're great out there, so it's going to be a hard one to win,” Morrison said. “I'm just looking forward to surfing uncrowded Keramas, hopefully get barreled and having a fun event.”

Tony Cannon, co-owner of Komune Bali, has been working to get the site ready for the fans on the beach and setting up a world-class streaming crew for the fans to watch on the webcast.

“It looks like we'll have waves from day one which is unreal,” Cannon said. “We've had the World Junior Championships and WCT events here in the past and with the calibre of surfers we have in this event I know we're going to see some fantastic surfing at Keramas again this week.”

Dane Jordan, ASP Australasia General Manager, is thrilled to be back at Keramas to provide the athletes and the fans the opportunity to see ASP QS surfing at such a high-performance wave.

“This really is one of the best waves in the world to watch contest surfing,” he said. “It doesn't matter if you're watching from the Komune pool or at home on the web, you get to see tubes, massive turns and technical airs. We have a great mix of older, more experienced competitors and young future stars — it's going to be a great event.”

The Komune Bali Pro presented by The Mad Hueys offers both ASP QS and Asian Surfing Championship (ASC) points to all surfers and has teamed up with Garuda Indonesia as the official airline partner and GoPro as the official camera of the event.

The event will run from October 8 - 12 and will be webcast LIVE -- Watch here.
