Competition lit up on the cobblestones of El Sunzal with first eliminations dealt for both men and women. The fields are narrowed to just 16 with Longboard Championship Top 8 scenarios awaiting in all-star clashes. Current No. 2 Kaniela Stewart slid past his elimination scare and officially qualified for the World Title showdown in Malibu. Peru's Maria Fernanda Reyes and Hawaii's fresh face John Michael Van Hohenstein stole the show in the face of elimination to secure their respective places amid the Round of 16 while Chloe Calmon pushed the pace and kept her World Title hopes intact.
