WSL: What's your first memory of surfing?
IF: When it all started I didn't have boards to surf and had to borrow them from my cousins.
I am more sure that nothing is impossible.
World Surf League: What do you think your big takeaway was from last season on the QS?
Italo Ferreira: Last year was one of the best years of my career, I got so many great results in a short time and my dream came true with the spot on the Tour. After [last] year I am more sure that nothing is impossible, I believe if you work hard it will pay off.
WSL: What are three words to describe yourself?
IF: Courage, perseverance and focus.
WSL: How do you keep calm in surf that scares you?
IF: I think about all that I've been through and it calms me.

WSL: What are you most looking forward to on Tour?
IF: I hope to adapt my surfing quickly and let it flow into the waves of the Tour.
WSL: What are you most nervous about for your first year on Tour?
IF: When I think of the waves that I've never surfed and how it will be when I get there.
WSL: Are there any waves that you feel less strong in?
IF: I think my weakness is in big waves, because I don't have [the chance] to surf those waves [all the] time. But I've been working and training hard to do my best to strengthen this weakness.

WSL: What differentiates you from the other surfers on Tour -- as a person and as a surfer?
IF: I don't know, I'm a very simple guy who doesn't drink, doesn't smoke and loves to have a lot of fun with my friends.

WSL: Is there an event in which you believe you have an edge over the other surfers?
IF: I believe it could be any stop, because it will depend on the moment.

IF: I train at the Instituto Marazul where there are the best professionals specializing in sports [medicine] and sometimes I surf with Jadson Andre who lives close to me.

IF: All contests that I watch them surf, I try to learn their style and beautiful maneuvers.
