Championship Tour: The Top Five
The Challenger Series is the launchpad to the elite Championship Tour, pitting established surfers fighting to stay on tour against the next generation of premium talent. Across the international events, the fields of 96 men and 64 women battle for one of the 12 men's and 6 women's coveted spots at the top level of the sport.
The Qualifying Series is a set of seven independent regional tours that determine which up-and-coming surfers qualify for the global Challenger Series. The most promising athletes from all seven regions, Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, Hawaii/Tahiti, North America, and South America, compete in local events to get just one step closer to qualifying for the Championship Tour.
The Junior Tour is where the road to the Championship Tour begins. The best young talent in the sport competes in their respective regions for a spot in the prestigious WSL Junior Championships. Winners of the WSL Junior Championships join a distinguished class of past champions and are given coveted wildcards directly into Challenger Series events.
The Longboard Tour champions the traditional lines of surfing with updated and progressive approaches. This series not only crowns a men's and women's World Longboard Champion each season, but also celebrates a special style of surfing expression at some of the most idyllic venues on the planet.
