THE LOCATION: Located in the heart of Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco, Anfaplace sitting on Pepsi Beach also called Bibsi or Lalla Meryem beach, mixes the city vibe with a pristine stretch of white sand and powerful Atlantic waves.

THE HISTORY: Coming up as a new destination in 2015, the Royal Moroccan Surfing Federation presents Quiksilver Pro Casablanca at Anfaplace will bring professional surfing to the shores of Morocco for the first time in WSL history. Part of both the African and European QS series, this event will attract some of the best surfers in the region and offer a chance to local surfers to mix it up with professional athletes and display the strong level grooming in Morocco.

A perfect example of the new generation of talents coming out of Morocco, Ramzi Boukhiam is a strong contender on the international QS series and made a name for himself winning the then ASP 6-Star San Miguel Pro Zarautz pres. by Euskaltel at the age of 18.

Paving the way for the likes of Boukhiam, was amongst others Abdel El Harim a long-time competitor on the European tours as a junior first, then in all the major events across the Old Continent and internationally.

THE WAVE: A mix of sandy and rocky bottom exposed to the large Atlantic swells, provides a large playfield with numerous peaks along the beach. Powerful and tricky, this urban spot attracts crowds when the conditions are right.
