THE LOCATION: With its 4.5 kilometres of beach and eleven surfing spots out of the 30 known spots on the Basque coast, Anglet is recognized as a surfing destination in its own right throughout the world.
Each spot has something special: the long left of the VVF beach, the sought-after beach-breaks of the "Sables d'or" and the "l'Océan" which the talented "tuberiders" attempt to enter, and the lazy surf of "Marinella", a hot spot for surfing schools… The best boards from all four oceans meet up each year at Anglet for pro-international competitions.
THE HISTORY: Anglet has been host to professional surfing events for over a decade and has a long tradition of both shortboarding and longboarding as well as a breeding ground for junior talents.
THE WAVE: Sandy bottoms form A-Frame peaks between the jetties. Works on all-tides depending sand quantity and can produce fast-hollow surf.
