Injured Gilmore Withdraws from Drug Aware Pro

Reigning World Champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) joined the WSL Desk to discuss why she was forced to withdraw from the rest of the Women's Drug Aware Margaret River Pro. Gilmore is currently World No. 2 on the Jeep Leaderboard, and her withdrawal will pave the way for a potential rankings shift after the event.

The six-time Champ isn't the first the withdraw from Margies due to injury. Similar to Gilmore's predicament, World No. 5 Jordy Smith (ZAF) won his Round 1 heat, but hurt himself during a freesurf and was also forced to pull out of the men's contest. Both surfers are banking on making swift recoveries, in time to compete at the Oi Rio Pro starting May 11. Watch Smith's interview about what went down.
