Gabriel Medina is looking to gain some ground on tour frontrunners Matt Wilkinson and John John Florence at the Billabong Pro Tahiti, Stop No. 7 of the Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour.

The 2014 world champion got off to a horrible start to the season, but has since clawed his way back into the world title race. Given that he's a back-to-back finalist at Teahupo'o, the WSL desk crew likes his odds there.
