Sally Fitzgibbons kicked off her 2017 campaign with a last-second win in Round One over a hard-charging Keely Andrew and Johanne Defay. A perennial Top 3 finisher and Title challenger over the previous seven years, Fitzgibbons is looking to rebound from a difficult 2016 which saw her ranking fall to No. 8 on the Jeep Leaderboard. Known for her athleticism and fitness, the Aussie looked tack sharp in her first heat of the year, impressing the judges with an onslaught of powerful forehand hacks in the tricky windswell surf at Snapper Rocks. After a poor result at the Roxy Pro last year, she's looking to right some wrongs and jump straight into the '17 Title hunt.
