Medina's Near-Perfect Heat

If this is how World Title contender Gabriel Medina surfs with a wounded knee, say a prayer for the rest of the competition. After his Round One heat a few days ago, the former World Champ tweaked his knee on an aborted backside rodeo and limped back to the medical tent. He said he woke up today feeling significant stiffness, but after a visit to the WSL medical tent and some therapeutic tape, he paddled out to compete relatively pain-free. Which is better than his good mate Ian Gouveia must have been feeling after Medina went on a rampage in their Round Three heat.
