In fewer than three weeks, the 2018 Championship Tour (CT) will kick off with the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast. That means it's go-time for shapers like Matt Biolos, of Mayhem boards, and Mike Andrews, of Channel Islands, who have had their hands full fine-tuning gear for the start of the season. With three stops on the first leg of the CT -- Australia's Gold Coast to the east, Bells Beach to the south and Margaret River to the west -- and endless variations in length, width, volume and rocker, finding the right formula is a lengthy process. But it's also paramount to get the alchemy just right: A board that feels perfect versus good enough could be the difference between competitive confidence and a frustrating season start.
