Nearly 100 of Australia and Asia's best junior surfers are set to hit Redhead Beach to contest the Lake Mac City Junior Pro at the 2020 Surfest this coming weekend.
The two-day event will be the second of the 2020 WSL APAC Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) Season and with swell predicted to fill in Saturday afternoon conditions are looking spicy.
WSL APAC Tour Manager Will Hayden-Smith looks forward to the performance of upcoming juniors.
"WSL is stoked to be returning to Newcastle to kick off the 2020 Surfest," Hayden-Smith said. " The forecast looks solid this weekend, so competitors are sure to be challenged. With spots at the WSL World Junior Championships on the line, we are expecting a super competitive weekend of surfing."
Surfest is the largest surfing festival in the southern hemisphere and celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, there is sure to be plenty of both action on and off the water.
The Lake Mac City Pro Junior will run from February 8 - 9.
