After two 9th place finishes at Pipe and Sunset beach, Griffin Colapinto tapped into gear at an event he has found success in before, the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal. In a relentless fight from the Elimination Round to taking down the one of the most dominant surfers in the event/3x World Champ Gabriel Medina, to later finishing the job and silencing a searing Ethan Ewing in a rail game, aerial, and barrel bout in a high-scoring final matchup. With a win in Portugal at stop No. 3, Griffin Colapinto has secured the World No. 1 spot and will sport the Yellow Jersey heading to Bells Beach. #wsl
