Melling's Barrel Wins ASP GoPro Challenge

Aussie Adam Melling finished fifth at the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal, but scored big without the jersey: His GoPro clip of a perfect sunset barrel has won the Portugal edition of the ASP GoPro Challenge. Melling will be awarded US$10,000 -- not to mention the glory of being a master GoPro cinematographer.

The ASP GoPro Challenge asks competing surfers to submit their videos from the contest venue starting two days prior to the contest window, and no later than the conclusion of the competition. Portugal's Challenge is the fourth in the series, following faceoffs at Margaret River, Fiji and Tahiti. Judging criteria and previous winners are listed here.
