The second edition of the SEAT Pro Netanya is just around the corner, and it will bring some of Europe's best surfers back to the quiet little seaside town of Netanya, Israel from January 19-28, 2017.
You may remember the inaugural event earlier this year, which crowned Pedro Henrique and Maud Le Car in quality surf and showed the country has lots to offer, boasting some 180km of exposed coastline.
Henrique & Le Car reign supreme on Israeli soil for first-ever QS event in Netanya.
"I loved the event in Netanya last year and especially the cultural and historical richness of the place," Le Car explained. "It's the first time I surfed in the Mediterranean and I was really surprised with the quality of the waves there."

With a variety of break types from the typical white-sand beach breaks to points and reefs, every surfers' needs will be met in the water and the wide variety of activities on-land will only make for a better stay.
"Israel is a very special place and I loved my time there, so I definitely want to go back and see my friends again," Henrique said. "I think people will be better prepared with boards and everything with the experience we had last year. I don't have a main sponsor for next season so planning the year ahead is tough but Netanya is one of the events I want to do again."

The urban jungle of Tel Aviv, deserted South and the mountains in the North are just a fraction of all the beauty this country has to offer. And if you still need persuading, the locals incredible welcome will definitely win your affection.

All of the above reasons are partly why an even greater number of athletes should soon proceed with their entries and start planning their stay in Netanya next month. Of course the 1,500 QS points and prize money purse might be an extra motivation to start the season off right.
"The Israel Surfing Association and the city of Netanya are proud to host the SEAT Pro Netanya for the second time in 2017," Yossi Zamir, organizer of the event stated. "We had great weather and waves this year which attracted about 20,000 people to the event site. We're building a bigger and better site with a flurry of brands and local shapers supporting the event. We also expect more surfers to join us in Netanya as we've upgraded the women's event to QS1,500 as well. The city council and SEAT have renewed their support to this event and we'll also welcome many new partners who want to be involved."
