Kelly Slater's Continuance Part II
WSL
Kelly Slater's goal heading into the Corona Open J-Bay was to get back into winning form. "I just want to try to put a win on the map," he said upon arrival. "As a long shot, if I can get a really hot streak going -- get some Quarterfinals and Semifinals, I can get my name back in the World Title conversation by the end of the year."
While Slater's J-Bay campaign started strong, fate quickly intervened. He suffered what may arguably be the worst injury of his career during a morning practice session, breaking the third and fourth metatarsals in his right foot.
In Part II of Continuance, a documentary series focusing on Slater's 2017 season, we get an intimate look at how Slater reacted to this setback, and quickly put it into perspective. "I may not surf the rest of the year," he explains. "But being able to have some time off could be some sort of godsend."
