Pro Santa Cruz pres. by Oakley brings Europe's Best surfers to central Portugal.
Portugal's Pro Santa Cruz pres. by Oakley will return in its third edition with a men's QS 3,000 next week. The quality of the waves and infrastructures in Santa Cruz have already made it a favorite among some of the best surfers on the planet and this year's list of competitors include big names again like Kanoa Igarashi, Joan Duru, Wiggolly Dantas, Leonardo Fioravanti, Miguel Pupo, Jadson Andre, Ryan Callinan and many more.
The last edition crowned Marco Giorgi in an epic Final clash against Thiago Camarao. An unfriendly forecast meant surfers took on stormy surf on finals day but it never stopped them from performing radical maneuvers for their shot at the event title.
The event also has a major ambassador in current World No. 15 and national hero Frederico Morais. Fred made it all the way to the Semis and was stopped by a flaring Camarao, but he'll be back next week to fly the Portuguese flag alongside long-time WSL Championship Tour competitor Tiago Pires.
