It's no secret that 19-year-old Griffin Colapinto exceeded expectations during his rookie debut on the Gold Coast -- making it to the Quarterfinals and eliminating numerous heavy hitters along the way. Despite the pressure, the San Clemente native maintained composure throughout and looked almost nonchalant during his interviews.
The question remained on whether or not he could continue his streak and perform at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. After his Round 1 heat against Filipe Toledo and Michael February, Colapinto doesn't look to be slowing down. He sent both competitors into the dreaded Round Two heats by earning a 7.00 on his opening wave, applying pressure early on.
