Caparica Pro Upgrades Men's QS to 3,000 Division
Nicolas Leroy
The Caparica Surf Fest Pro powered by Oakley will wrap up a Spring leg of events in Portugal in fantastic fashion with QS and Junior divisions.
What?
A combined Qualifying Series and Junior QS event, the week in Caparica promises incredible action on all fronts, both in and out of the lineup. The Men's Caparica Surf Fest Pro powered by Oakley upgraded to a QS3,000 this year, bringing some of the best QS warriors out there for the first time in Caparica.
The Women's division will boast Stop No. 2 on the regional qualifying series as well as a great stepping stone for some of the junior surfers who want to hone their skills against more experienced competitors.
The Caparica Surf Fest Junior Pro powered by Oakley will be Stop No. 2 as well for all European juniors, who will have launched their 2019 season the week prior in Espinho.
Where?
In its four years of existence, Caparica has definitely made an impression on surfers, with consistent, good surf and all-round beautiful weather. Located just South of the capital city of Lisbon, past the iconic red suspension bridge, the coastline offers miles of uncrowded beach breaks.
That part of the coast receives more swell than the Cascais area and drags surfers by the numbers when the winds and waves conditions are right. Whether you want easy access to the beach in town, or find a peak on your own further down the coast, Caparica has got it all.
When?
Tune in from April 15-20, 2019 and check out all the photos, videos and updates right here on worldsurfleague.com!
