World Surf League is delighted to announce the addition of the men's QS5,000 Pro Taghazout Bay to the 2020 Qualifying Series schedule.

What?

The QS5,000 Pro Taghazout Bay will bring some of the finest competitors from the QS field to the dreamy land of perfect rights in Taghazout Bay, unfolding on the world-renown Anchor Point.

"I'm really stoked to finally see my home spot shine," Ramzi Boukhiam, Moroccan professional surfer stated. "I can't wait for everyone to enjoy our waves and the beautiful culture. It's fantastic to have this first big QS in Morocco, especially on a world class wave. 2020 is going to be a big year with major goals, having the Olympics, and my qualification on the CT. I'm ready!"

Where?

The wave itself is an absolute dream, lighting up with the North Atlantic's winter long-period swells to pulse perfect rights for up to several hundred meters into the Taghazout Bay. It was first revealed in the 60s by traveling Australian surfers and has since witnessed an ever-growing community of both locals and traveling riders enjoy its coastline.

Big Qualifying Series events early in the season are extremely important for surfers trying to secure or retain their spot in the QS Top 100 and potentially fight by year's end for qualification on the Championship Tour, which guarantees a strong field heading to Morocco in January.

The event will also count in both the African and European Regional Title races and welcome the best surfers from the two continents.

When?

Tune in from January 25 - February 1, 2020 and check out all the photos, videos and updates from the Pro Taghazout Bay.

In the meantime, check out some of the imagery from Anchor Point and Taghazout Bay!
