Michel Bourez, the Tahitian spartan, just took to Instagram to announce that he will not be surfing the upcoming swell that is set to light up Teahupo'o, on account of the COVID-19 situation.
"Big swell announced for this weekend. Personally I will not go to Teahupo'o to avoid the spread of the virus," Bourez wrote on Instagram.
He went on to say in his post, "Here in Tahiti, we're dealing with the Coronavirus like everyone else. It's starting to get more complicated and I don't think people are taking it as seriously as they should. Therefore it's spreading very quickly."
Bourez concluded by saying, "If we all take precautions together we can leave this mess as fast as possible and return back to normal life."
