2020 Championship Tour Rookie and Australian Surfer of the Year Jack Robinson married his girlfriend of two years, Brazlian model Julia Muniz over the weekend at home in Western Australia. And in true quarantine fashion, the wedding was broadcasted to friends and family through Zoom.
Julia Muniz is a swimwear and lifestyle model, influencer and surfer. She's done campaigns with Fashion Nova, PacSun, and other big swimsuit brands including Billabong, Bodyglove and Mikoh.
Robinson kicked off the 2019 season with a win at the Volcom Pipe Pro setting the momentum for his qualification run. And in typical Robo fashion, he dominated The Box as a local wildcard entry to the Margaret River Pro, dropping a 9.27 and a 9.30 in the Round of 32 taking out then World No. 6 Filipe Toledo.
"Such a gorgeous wedding of my beautiful son Jack to his gorgeous bride Julia," said Jack's mother Mersina on Instagram. "It was planned but a few weeks ago as an authentic and simple celebration. It happened to be a sunny winter's Margaret River day."
She went on to write, "So happy to welcome Julia to the family. You two were a match made in heaven. I wish you both eternal love."
Last year, Jack and Julia traveled the world together stopping through California, Tahiti, Indonesia, Hawaii and more.
And to mark the end of the year, Muniz was right by Jack's side as he qualified for the 2020 Championship Tour after winning the Vans World Cup of Surfing at Sunset.
Congratulations to the newlyweds and we can't wait to see you guys when the Tour resumes.
