The last day of competition commences with an intense final between Courtney Conlogue and Tyler Wright who are both off to a strong season start. Wright gets the edge over Conlogue with a near-perfect heat, dropping a 9.60 and a 9.07 to take her second win of the season.
Sebastian Zietz steps his game up a level to take out both Italo Ferreira and Julian Wilson to become 2016 Drug Aware Margaret River champ. Zietz earned a 9.10 in both his semi, and final heats to make this stop on tour his best result ever. Having been given a second chance on tour through being an alternative, Seabass made the most of it and took the Margaret River trophy. This win propelled him to requalify for the 2017 season.
