Joey Buran surprised a lot of people in 1984 when he became the first Californian to win the Masters in conditions described as "15-foot, take-off-and-die" Pipeline. But it might have been his response to the win that was even more shocking. Claiming he felt a great emotional void after finally achieving his life-long dream, he quit the tour to pursue a career in ministry, which continues to be his calling today.
