The Rip Curl Pro Anglet comes back with a sixth edition in August 2021 to launch the Qualifying Series on the Old Continent.

"Rip Curl signed on this year as a major sponsor for the Australian Championship Tour leg and will be the naming rights sponsor of the WSL Finals for the next three years," Lefin continued. "Locally, Jean-Sebastien Estienne and I had discussions and agreed we wanted Rip Curl Europe to get involved at the European level. It is important for us to offer surfers here the opportunities they need to stay competitive on the International scene, through the regional QS and the Grom Search series."

The revamped Qualifying Series schedule this year means the 2021 Rip Curl Pro Anglet will be the first event in the 2021/22 season. Surfers will look to get a head start in the race for both the European title as well as qualification for the Challenger Series of 2022.

"Right from the inaugural edition we knew this event would become one of the most important in France and Europe," Cheyne Bradburn, Events & Marketing Manager of the World Surf League Europe added: "This new partnership reinforces all the work that has been done over the years with the Anglet council and promises a radiant future for the event. Since the global pandemic started, organizing events has been tough and we'd like to thank Rip Curl for their continued support of professional surfing in Europe. Surfers can now look forward to a great start to their 2021/22 campaign on the Qualifying Series."

"Surfing is a passion that has been growing here since the 50s, it truly is in our town's DNA," Claude Olive, Mayor of Anglet stated. "Since 2015 and the inaugural Pro Anglet, we are invested in professional surfing again. We're very happy to welcome Rip Curl, an iconic Australian surf brand that has its European headquarters close by and with which we share common values. This new partnership will only help better this event further and cement its place on the international surf scene. We look forward to welcoming you at La Chambre d'Amour from August 24-29 for the Rip Curl Pro Anglet."
